The license service should now start normally from the lmtools.exe application.
Go to the “General” tab and click on “Start”. In the “Log on” tab, change the option to “Log on as: Local System Account”. Double-click on the name of the FlexNet service. Open the “Windows Administrative Tools”, and open the “Services” window. If the license service does not start, check that the service is configured as a Local System account, rather than a Local Service account. Start the license server by clicking “Start Server” in the lmtools.exe program. Select “Use Services” and then “Start Server at Power Up”. Set the path to the debug log file, e.g. The license files in this directory must have '. If you have multiple license files, enter the path of the directory into the input field, e.g. C:\flexlm\licenses\schrodinger_license.lic. If you have a single license file, you can use the Browse dialog to navigate to the license file, e.g. Set the path to the lmgrd executable, e.g. Change the Service Name to “Schrodinger”. In the “Start/Stop/Reread” tab, click on the “Edit Advanced Settings” button and select “Restrict lmdown to work only from node where lmgrd is running”. If you want to install just the license server software without the Schrödinger Suite, see Article 1820. On macOS, you can create a launchd service. On Linux, you can create a systemd service. On Windows, you can create a Windows service to automatically start the license server process, when the machine is started.
